Gilfillan House Private Event
Honored to provide floral designs for private reception at Gilfillan House, a 1905 historic home; a Texas Historic Landmark, a City of Austin Landmark. A lovely rebirth is underway for this grand lady.
A February visit to Longue Vue House & Gardens, New Orleans
An 8-acre estate once owned by the Stern family and generously donated for public access, inspires with its' beauty and elegance. Gardens designed by Ellen Biddle Shipman surround this classic Revival style mansion completed in 1942 by architects William and Geoffrey Platt. Originally furnished living spaces open to garden vistas and offer insight into a family home where entertaining, beauty, hospitality and philanthropy were essential elements of everyday life. The gardens were just shaking off the winter mantle and beginning to emerge; tulip trees and camellias start the show.
Bulbs, bulbs and more bulbs - too many are never enough of Amaryllis and Paperwhites; easy to plant and force into bloom at holiday time. I love these banked and bunched together as they last throughout the season and bring fresh, clean, white into the house or near the entry door.
